Al ver a las mujeres que trabajan en el campo, hombres necesitan un aprecio especial por las madres de niños mientras trabajan las cosechas de frutas y verduras. Antes de ir al campo a trabajar, se aseguran de que sus hijos estén alimentados, vestidos y listos para el día en la guardería o en la escuela. Cuando coseché cerezas durante mi año sabático, fue increíble ver a las mujeres llevar a los niños a la guardería o la escuela todas las mañanas, sabiendo todo lo que tenían que hacer antes de comenzar un día en el huerto.
Una bendición en los últimos meses es el aprecio que la gente siente por quienes trabajan tan duro en nuestros campos, pero hoy, espero que gente preste atención especial a las mujeres en el campo. Hay tantas cosas que observé que hacían las mujeres antes de ir al campo. Antes de ir a los campos, una olla de frijoles estaba en la estufa a fuego lento para tener frijoles listos para la cena. Ciertamente, algunos hombres ayudaron a sus cónyuges, pero las mujeres del campamento fueron tan impresionantes.
Que las madres trabajadoras de todos los ámbitos de la vida sean apreciadas por todo lo que hacen, antes de ir a su lugar de trabajo.

Appreciation of women working in the fields
Watching women working in the fields, men need a special appreciation for mothers of children as they work the harvests of fruit and vegetables. Before they go into the fields for work, they make sure that their children are fed, clothed and ready for the day at daycare or school. When I picked cherries during my sabbatical, it was amazing watching women taking children to daycare or school each morning, knowing all that they had to do before beginning a day in the orchard.
A blessing in recent months is the appreciation people have for those working so hard in our fields, but today, I hope that people pay special attention to the women in the fields. There are so many things that I observed women doing before going into the fields. Before we went into the fields, a pot of beans was on the stove on low heat to have beans ready for the evening meals. Certainly, some men helped their spouses, but the women in the camp were most impressive.
May working mothers in all walks of life be appreciated for so much they do, before they go to their place of work.
